Latest updates from the digital communications team for April 2022.

Digital prospectus update

The 2023 undergraduate light touch course pages were launched on 30 March. For the first time, all pages are using central data to display course title, year of entry, entry requirements, joint options, fees and contact details.

We have now begun working on the full-length undergraduate and postgraduate course pages for 2023 entry.

WordPress migration

We are close to completing the migration of around 100 WordPress sites that were hosted by the School of Biology on their servers to WP Engine. Once this migration is complete we will turn our attention to about 40 sites hosted by the School of Medicine.

Hosting sites with WP Engine will provide enhanced security, improved performance and a better user experience. It will also help consolidate the management of University WordPress sites.

Google Analytics 4

We recently updated the University website to use Google Analytics 4, which is replacing Universal Analytics from July 2023. The main benefits of Google Analytics 4 are:

  • Improved user journey tracking.
  • Improved user engagement analysis.
  • More intelligent user privacy.
  • Enhanced visualisations and reporting.

We are still in the early stages of exploring Google Analytics 4 and will provide further information on how it could benefit you later in the year.
