Did I miss the June newsletter?
Nope! We forgot to send out a newsletter for June, but we’ll catch you up with anything you may have missed in this newsletter. Sorry about that!
Careers website redesign
The content creation phase for the Careers website is almost complete. Information officers in the Careers Centre have been working tirelessly to gather content and get it signed off by advisers. Due to their efforts, we are now able to start building web pages in our content managements system, T4v8.
Once the pages are built in T4v8, our next step is to double check the content against the user requirements to make sure we haven’t missed any key user needs. We will then move into a further design and development phase to integrate data such as graduate destinations and enhance the navigation across the site.
Digital prospectus central data integration
We have been working to integrate data held centrally in SITS into the digital prospectus, including evaluating the API (application programming interface). As a starting point, we are aiming to build entry requirements data into the undergraduate course pages. This will drastically reduce the workload of the Digital Communications team and Admissions that is normally required to manually enter and check the details.
T4v7 upgrade to v8
Over the summer, we are planning to update the T4v7 system to use the v8 software. The actual process of adding and editing content is the same in v7 and v8, and the content and design of the published web pages will be unaffected – it is the user interface that will be changed. We are in the process of creating training materials on how to use v8. When we have a definite timeline for the upgrade, we will be in contact with all T4v7 content editors with further details.
