Creating accessible PDFs

We are trying to move towards a standardised way of presenting PDFs. While most (if not all) web content and forms would ideally be published as HTML, sometimes we have to use Microsoft Word or PDF files as an interim measure.

But many of the PDFs that are created for the University website are not as accessible as they could be.

Much of this guidance from Gov.uk would apply to any document you would create for use on the web. So if you find that you have to create Word or PDF files, please consider following this guidance to ensure that your document can be used by as many people as possible.
